Easter is here, which means baskets filled with colored eggs and a day filled outdoor family fun! To celebrate this year, St. Augustine is gearing up for a hopping good time with exciting festivities. Here is a sampling of local events to consider on Easter Sunday, April 20.

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. — The Renaissance WGV Resort

Many of St. Augustine’s favorite restaurants will be featuring an Easter Brunch but if you are looking to stay close to home, Villagio is an excellent option. Located in The Renaissance at World Golf Village, the Grille will feature a full Easter buffet with a wide range of dishes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests will also be treated to live music between noon and 3 p.m.  The cost is $44 for adults, $24 for children between 5 and 12, and free for children under 5. Seniors will enjoy a 20% discount. Reservations are required, so call 904-940-8641 or visit www.Myvillagio.com.

56th Annual St. Augustine Easter Promenade

This must-see experience features locals and visitors alike strolling through the Plaza in their fanciest Easter attire.  Judges will award prizes for Prettiest Hat, Most Original Hat, Best Dressed Couple, Best Dressed Girl, Boy and Pet, Largest Family, and Family from Farthest Away. Visitors can also guess the weight of a large, live bunny. Promenade contest registration starts at noon. The public is invited to watch for free.

Jazz Jam & Spring Fling

12:30 p.m. — Royal St. Augustine Golf & Country Club

What better way to celebrate spring’s biggest holiday than with music? Presented by the St. Augustine Jazz Society, the event will delight guests with nonstop entertainment, food and dancing. An Easter luncheon kicks off the event at 12:30 p.m., followed by a musical comedy show, “Dancing With the Stars” show, a Best Easter Hat contest with great prizes, and plenty of music and dancing with E.T. Swing Band. Tickets are only $20 each for this “six-course entertainment” spectacular, which benefits the Society’s scholarship program.
