New businesses are slated to make life at WGV even more convenient and delicious

Perfectly situated between St. Augustine and Jacksonville, World Golf Village is thriving, especially lately, with a new wave of retail coming into the area — and many more slated to break ground soon. It’s grown so much commercially, where everything you need is just a quick few minutes down the road. The latest to open is Bass Pro, with over 100,000 square feet of sports retail to satisfy all your outdoor needs and desires. Costco opened in 2022, and the famous Buc-ee’s in 2021. There’s a Publix, Ace Hardware, Parlor Donuts, Whataburger and Panera. Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts fuel the town, and everyone’s favorite psychedelic pizza, Mellow Mushroom, is now open daily for lunch and dinner. Break a sweat at Orangetheory Fitness and the YMCA, just around the corner, or head outside to enjoy local parks, trails and, of course, world-famous golfing.

One of the latest additions to celebrate are The Shoppes of Tocoi Creek, a multi-tenant retail space and office condos coming to the World Golf Village along the Pacetti Road corridor, located at the entrance to the King and Bear neighborhood directly across the street from the Shoppes at Murabella. A new, fast-casual restaurant is already slated to open in The Shoppes of Tocoi Creek, called Kolapasi Indian Canteen, which offers a modern take on South Indian cuisine. Kolapasi means “hungry” in South India, and was founded by Santhosh Muruganantham while attending Georgia Tech. Muruganantham missed his mother’s cooking while away at school, and decided he would create her dishes at home to satisfy his hungry taste buds. Nearly 10 years later, he’s sharing these delicious, home-cooked meals with others. With locations currently in South Carolina, and franchises opening up throughout the world, this award-winning restaurant will be its first in Florida. The menu includes authentic Indian cuisine, like Nilgiri Chicken, creamy and intoxicating, made with coconut, mint and coriander; Kerela Beef Roast, a delicious and aromatic dish known for bold flavors and spice; curries, cashew chicken, fragrant Seeraga Samba Biryani rice, ghee rice made with cardamom and cloves and so much more. Kolapasi boasts certifications that include 100 percent natural ingredients, no artificial flavors, 100 percent fresh and is Halal certified.

Making news earlier this year, Walmart is slated to open sometime in 2026. Just two miles from Costco, renderings indicate that the big box store will be joined by four fast food restaurants, two stores and a pair of gas stations — one of which will be a Walmart fuel center. Rumors were confirmed recently that the popular, fan-favorite Chick-fil-A is slated to go up at 3405 B International Golf Parkway. The location will feature Chick-fil-A’s double drive-thru model to accommodate for any traffic concerns. With so much so close, and so accessible, life continues to get better at WGV!
