No matter the season, a day at the park is always a good idea. According to the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, spending time outdoors in green spaces has been linked with a myriad of physical and mental health benefits, including lower mortality, better sleep, lower blood pressure and reduced risk of chronic disease. Whether you’re looking for a traditional slides-and-swings playground or an out-in-the-wild adventure, World Golf Village has a whole host of places perfect for spending time in the great outdoors.

Mill Creek Park – 125 Winners Way, open dawn to dusk

Opened in February of 2025, Mill Creek Park is the hub for sports in World Golf Village. This multipurpose outdoor space features two baseball fields, two softball fields, four batting cages, a multipurpose field, restrooms, concession stands and durable turf. The fields are lined for football, soccer and lacrosse. The park regularly hosts youth baseball and softball, adult soccer and flag football leagues.

Trout Creek Community Park & Boat Ramp – 6795 Collier Rd., open dawn to dusk

Trout Creek Community Park & Boat Ramp is a great park offering tons of activities. Kayakers, paddleboarders and canoers can enjoy easy access to Trout Creek and the St. Johns River, with plenty of parking and a double boat ramp. The Creek is well-shaded and usually very calm, perfect for birding, fishing and exploring. An accessible boardwalk allows for strolls along the canal and boat ramps. A half-mile out-and-back nature trail offers scenic views. For all-day play, there is a playscape, a gaga-ball court, a covered picnic area with tables and a grill, restrooms and a community center.

Gourd Island Conservation Area – 10170-10310 Russell Sampson Rd.

If the outdoors is your playground, then Gourd Island Conservation Area is not to be missed! Located just 10 to 15 minutes north of World Golf Village, this property features wetland and upland environments and is home to gopher tortoise, deer, otter, many bird species and even the American alligator. There are two trails: the white blaze trail is a short .8 mile (one-way) out-and-back trail, while the red blaze trail continues on, offering a 2.5-mile loop. The trails are perfect for walking, biking and wildlife viewing.

Twelve Mile Swamp Conservation Area – 440 International Golf Pkwy., open 24 hours

Twelve Mile Swamp Conservation Area is truly a nature-lovers’ paradise. It consists of planted pine forest, several small cypress domes and a series of large swamps that form the headwaters of six major tributary systems. It has 378 acres of recreational area, including a 2.8-mile round-trip trail that is easy and flat, available for hiking, biking and horseback riding. Explorers can see a variety of trees and plants, including scrubby oaks, shiny blueberry, pawpaw, lyonia and wire grass. The area is a prime habitat for gopher tortoises, but don’t touch, as this keystone species is highly protected.

Pacetti Bay Park – 315 Meadowlark Ln., COMING SOON!

After receiving feedback from area residents, St. Johns County approved construction of a brand-new park in World Golf Village that is set to bring a wealth of recreational amenities to the neighborhood. Approved plans include a fenced dog park with a splash pond, basketball and bocce ball courts, athletic fields, playgrounds, pavilions, walking trails, open green space and an expanded parking lot. Construction began on May 19, 2026, with projected completion for late 2026. The small parking lot and restroom already located at the park site will be closed during construction.
