Upcoming Live Music Events in Northeast Florida

Summer is at its end, and school is back in session, but there is still plenty to do and see and listen to in Northeast Florida. With so many great venues, there is always epic talent coming through the First Coast. Here’s what’s happening in Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine in the coming weeks.

Candlelight Concerts, presented by Fever, are a new, magical musical experience reimagining modern music with classical instruments. Set in beautiful, unique and often historic venues, Candlelight Concerts are illuminated by thousands of candles, creating the ultimate serene environment. Performers range from full orchestras, string quartets and jazz bands, and cover music like Coldplay & Imagine Dragons, Queen vs ABBA, A Tribute to Michael Jackson, and 90s Hip-Hop on Strings (and that’s just the concerts in September!). Hosted all over the world, Candlelight Concerns are held in Jax at the Jacksonville Public Library’s Ann & David Hicks Auditorium. Concerts are 60 minutes and tickets start at around $45. See the full concert list at feverup.com/en/jacksonville/candlelight.

TheSt. Augustine Amphitheatre, lovingly referred to as The Amp, is an incredible venue located on Anastasia Island in St. Augustine. Set in the natural landscape of Anastasia State Park, this beautiful setting makes for a special concert experience. In September alone, you can head back to the ‘90s to see Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms with Spin Doctors and the 2000s with Modest Mouse. See all-star legends like James Taylor, John Fogerty & Steve Winwood and Brad Paisley. The talent continues throughout the fall and winter, so be sure to snag your tickets here.

Sing Out Loud is an annual live music festival in St. Augustine, and this September celebrates its 10th Anniversary! The festival features more than 100 local and regional artists playing at over a dozen venues throughout historic St. Augustine. Local artist showcases are all FREE and hosted at favorite venues and bars like Hornski’s Brewing, Colonial Music Park, Dog Rose Brewing, Spinster Abbott’s, Boat Drinks and many more. Musical styles range from indie to country, jazz to hip-hop and everything in between. See the full schedule of events at www.singoutloudfestival.com/events.

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is a live music venue built from the foundation of an old Baptist Church, and offers an intimate concert experience with a premier sound and projection system. They will host Sing Out Loud shows like the Sam Grisman Project, a listening-room experience that combines storytelling, music and spontaneity; Jet; Domi & JD Beck; Madeleine Peyroux; and more. Get tickets and see the full calendar of events here.

And there’s so much more: Phish and The Smashing Pumpkins will each be headlining at Vystar Veteran’s Memorial Arena in October; Pam Tillis, Greensky Bluegrass and Josh Turner will be taking the stage at the stunning Florida Theater; and Going for Broke, Whitney and so many other rad acts will be playing at Jack Rabbits, one of the best, laid-back and welcoming music clubs in Florida. So get out, get happy and enjoy the energy of live music in NE Florida!
