The Cascades is an active-adult community located in the heart of World Golf Village known for its 22,000 square foot grand clubhouse and plethora of activities happening year round. I took a tour of the amenity facility with Davidson Realty agent and Cascades resident Jock Ochiltree to spotlight some of his favorite community activities. Join us for our tour!

Jock and I began our tour in The Cascades’ multi-purpose ballroom where neighbors enjoy dinners, plays performed by their theater group, arts and crafts shows and their annual New Year’s Eve party. Then, we stopped by the Poker Room, where poker tournaments and dominoes happen daily.

From there, we explored the outside sports area, which includes tennis courts (with three lighted Har-Tru courts), Bocce courts, horseshoes, an outdoor swimming pool and more. Another wonderful amenity the residents can take advantage of is Blue Heron Lake. Residents are invited to hike around the lake or sit and enjoy the birdlife and beautiful Northeast Florida weather.

Our last stop is the indoor salt-water pool, which is heated all year round. Exercise groups frequently enjoy this area, as well as neighbors for relaxation!

Other amenities include a billiards and dart room, a card room, library/media room, arts and crafts center with a potter’s wheel and ceramic kilns, a computer center, a fitness center with an aerobics room, women’s and men’s spa/locker rooms, and spacious sidewalks throughout the beautiful community.
