Davidson Realty’s charitable foundation Davidson Cares is proud to celebrate its biggest year yet thanks to Investing in Kids (INK)! Davidson Cares and INK (formerly known as St. Johns County Education Foundation) came together to deliver $30,000 in grants to our local public schools, including Wards Creek Elementary, Mill Creek Elementary, Palencia Elementary and Pacetti Bay Middle School.

Davidson Cares raised $15,000 through fundraising efforts and sponsorships during the 2014-2015 school year. Through INK’s Matching Grant Program, the two foundations were able to donate a total of $30,000 to the schools! Each of the four schools mentioned above received $7,500 for principal-submitted grant requests.

Each of the schools have different plans for their grant money. Wards Creek Elementary plans to use their share for a teacher development program based on “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen Covey. Mill Creek will implement the funds into a teacher training program focused on literacy, including instruction from renowned literacy expert Debbie Miller. Palencia Elementary will utilize the funds to buy new literacy and science materials, while Pacetti Bay Middle School’s grant money will be used for teacher development.

Davidson Cares and INK are so proud to be able to help our schools reach their goals! Davidson Realty is a platinum sponsor of INK and Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson serves on the INK Board of Directors.
