World Golf Village Makes it fun and Easy for new Residents to get Involved!

World Golf Village residents boast a variety of backgrounds and interests, but there is one trait they share: our residents love to get involved and contribute to our warm sense of community!

A great way to get involved is through our smorgasbord of activities and groups – accessible right in our backyards. Here is just sampling of diverse activities that WGV newcomers can utilize to meet their neighbors, learn new skills, and have some fun!

GAME ON!

Ladies Bunco – Meets two nights each month (1st Friday of each month at 6 p.m. and the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.) at the Amenities Center. It costs just $5 for the entire evening! For more information, visit: http://www.wgvsocial.com/bunco.htm.

Poker Nights – Join us three nights per month for three different games: a Texas Hold-em Night, Low Stakes Texas Hold-em Night, and Dealer’s Choice Night. Visit http://www.wgvsocial.com/pokernig.htm for more information.

Bridge Lessons – Learn to play bridge using modern conventions and strategies! All levels of play are welcome and lessons are followed by play at each session. For more information, contact Marianne Claysmith, Silver Life Master, at (904)940-0468.

HOBBIES & INTERESTS

Book Club – Meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at the King & Bear’s House Champion’s Grille from 5 to 6 p.m. For more information, contact Vicki Gibson at gv809@bellsouth.net.

Music Lessons – Lessons are provided by the First Coast School of Music on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday of each month at the Amenities Center. In-home lessons are also available! For more information, visit:  https://www.supersaas.com/schedule/FCSOM/WGV_King_and_Bear.

Cruise & Travel Club – Set sail and meet us the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Amenities Center. For more information, contact Tom Bartimus at (904)392-1703 or TBartimus@CruisesInc.com.

GET MOVING!

Water Aerobics – Join us at the King & Bear pool each day from 9-10 a.m. for complimentary water aerobics classes (weather permitting). No need to sign up; just show up ready for some fun!

Walk It Off Club – Meets every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Amenities Center. Each session includes a four-mile walk around our beautiful World Golf Village (weather permitting). Please plan to arrive at 9:25 a.m.

Yoga Classes – Come on over to the Amenities Center every Monday evening (6-8 p.m.) for a fun and relaxing yoga session. For more information, visit: http://www.wgvsocial.com/#Yoga_Classes_starting.

GETTING SOCIAL

WGV Social – Mark your calendar for the 1st Wednesday of each month from 5 to 8 p.m. on the patio of the Amenities Center for good conversation and lots of fun! Open and free to all WGV residents and guests (BYOB and refreshments). For more information, contact Mike Talbert at  mmtalbert@comcast.net.

Happy Hours – Meet each Friday and Sunday at the Slammer & Squire Clubhouse for dinner and drinks (5 – 8 p.m.). This is open to the public, but members have priority seating so reservations are recommended. Also, join us every other Sunday for Trivia Night!
