Davidson Cares, the corporate giving program of Davidson Realty, is excited to announce their 1st Annual Shooting for SAYS Event on Thursday, October 20th at Jacksonville Clay Target Sports! Since the Davidson family is passionate about shooting sports, they thought an afternoon of shooting with friends to raise money for St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) would be an excellent new tradition for Davidson Cares. All proceeds from the event will benefit the boys at SAYS, which provides a safe, therapeutic home for boys 6-18 years of age that have suffered from severe abuse and neglect. SAYS takes in boys from all over the state of Florida.

Davidson just announced their 3rd Quarter Referral Prize, a silver unisex Mango Toucan beach cruiser bicycle, valued at more than $200. This referral contest will run until the end of September when the winner is chosen on September 26th.
The world is ramping up to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and the World Golf Hall of Fame is celebrating with a new exhibit dedicated to golf’s place in Olympic history.
Dubbed “Road to Rio: Golf’s Return to the Olympics,” the exhibit features two rare gold and silver medals won by H. Chandler Egan at the 1904 Summer Games, information about the Olympic qualifiers, changes to Olympic uniforms from 1900 to today, and more. Visitors can even have a photo taken on the Olympic podium holding their country’s flag.
In this day and age it is easy to manage nearly every aspect of life on our own. However, home sellers are finding many more cons than pros emerge when they consider selling their own home. Back in 2005, 13% of sellers sold their home as a FBSO (For Sale By Owner). Fast forward 10 years and FSBO homes accounted for just 8% of home sales in 2015 (source: National Association of Realtors).
Sherry Davidson, President of Davidson Realty, helped shed light on why this is the case. “Sellers are realizing the drawbacks outweigh the advantages when they list a FSBO,” said Sherry. “In general, we are seeing FSBO homes stay on the market longer and end up selling for less than homes sold with the assistance of an agent who knows the market, appropriate pricing and property marketing techniques.”

If you’ve ever applied for a mortgage, you undoubtedly asked a lot of questions. Troy Silhan knows all too well that answering borrower questions is vital to an open, productive lending process. And as Bank of England Mortgage Production Manager and Davidson Realty’s resident mortgage expert, he has the answers.
“Because of ever changing lending regulations, market adjustments and so on, it’s not uncommon for borrowers to have a long list of questions – even those who have purchased several homes,” said Troy. “This is a big investment, so it is important to understand each step throughout.”
With the increase in new residents coming to Northwest St. Johns County, we have also seen new opportunities to meet people and build on World Golf Village’s already strong sense of community. The latest addition to our area is Good News Church, located off International Golf Parkway just east of Interstate 95.
Pastor Andy Hirko and church members opened their doors on Sunday, April 17, welcoming 990 people to just the first two services. The congregation has since continued to grow in size.
Anyone who has endured a big move, especially to a different town or state, knows the frustration of arriving to your new empty home without lights, without cable, or worse, without coffee. Now there is a solution to your moving woes in locally owned company A Warm Welcome.
Launched in early 2016, A Warm Welcome is the result of a 1,000-mile move that owner Christine Bowe and her family made in 2015. She and her husband relocated with their four children from the hamlet of Stony Brook, New York, to Ponte Vedra last July.
