Sunday Drives Should Always End at Caps!

If you doubt how fortunate we are to live in Florida, you should go spend an afternoon at Caps on the Water in St. Augustine. It is located on the Intracoastal Waterway and no matter if you choose to dine inside or out on the large deck, you are sure to have a spectacular view of the sun setting over the water, but if you sit outside, you are treated to the ocean breeze floating in from the Atlantic. The restaurant began its existence as a fish camp back in 1947 and was converted to a restaurant in 1981.

Welcome to Arthur Rutenberg’s Design Center: Where the Fun Happens!

2line_2c-732882 Last month, we shared the first step of building a custom home with Arthur Rutenberg Homes. We took you on a tour of Arthur Rutenberg’s incredible model in Ponte Vedra, FL where we picked our floor plan and explored the model home to better understand the high level of finishes and options that come with a new home by Arthur Rutenberg. Now it’s time for the next step in building your Arthur Rutenberg home, visiting the inspiring design center, where you pick all your options for your new home!

In the design center, you begin by selecting materials for the exterior of our home to get the exact look you want. The savvy Arthur Rutenberg designers work with you to choose everything for your exterior space like material for your roof: maybe Mediterranean-style tile? Then there’s the choice of stucco finishes, veneers, stone and other exterior options, and don’t forget about pavers for the driveway and maybe for the patio too.

The World Golf Village Relay for Life is Almost Here!

Come one, come all Saturday, April 14th beginning at 3:00 PM at the Neighborhood Park to support this years World Golf Village Relay for Life! Sponsored by the American Cancer Society, this overnight relay-style event will be running until 9:00 AM Sunday, April 15th and will have multiple local teams participating to raise awareness and donations. If you have not signed up yet for a team or if you want to create your own team it’s very simple, visit http://www.worldgolfrelay.com/. There’s a Bearsford team, Murray Bros Caddy Shack, Davidson Realty, Samara Lakes, The Golf Club of South Hampton, Village Chiropractic Center, Providence Bible Church and more to choose from!

If you are not familiar with Relay for Life, it began in the mid-1980s when Dr. Gordy Klatt from Tacoma wanted to increase the income of his local American Cancer Society office and support his patients who had battled cancer. In 1985, Dr. Klatt put his passions for running marathons and fundraising together and spent 24 straight hours running around a track while friends, family and patients watched. Throughout the evening friends donated $25 to run or walk with Dr. Klatt for 30 minutes, raising $27,000 to fight cancer, and one man’s vision turned into a nation wide event.

Have Some Fun for a Great Cause at the 12th Annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament!

It’s that time of year again! Dust off those crazy golf pants, avoid the gopher at all cost, and make it out to the 12th annual Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament. Hosted by the famous Murray family, this all-inclusive two day charity event is packed full with great golf, celebrity guests, live music, and all kinds of other antics. Everything is included except the hotel and transportation to this once-a-year, can’t miss charity event. Starting in 2001, this special event has raised over $1.5 million for healthcare and education throughout the first coast. This year, part of the proceeds will be donated to The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to help further provide equipment and training to fire departments, law enforcement, and EMS around Northeast Florida.

Cheers to St. Augustine Nightlife with Peyton & Matt!

Sometimes life is better than good. In fact life was pretty great last week when friend and co-worker Matt Burkhart and I got to hit some of our favorite watering holes in downtown St. Augustine to bring you this inside scoop on where to kick back with some beers, have a cocktail with friends or sip wine in style. Truly St. Augustine has so much to offer. In addition to gorgeous weather, historic beauty, great shopping and sightseeing, St. Augustine has a nightlife scene with something for everyone – dive joints, college hangouts, gourmet restaurants and sophisticated bars. Come along with me and Matt as we visit my favorite spots: J.P. Henley’s for the beer lovers, Cellar 6 for a relaxing night on the town, and The Tini Martini Bar for delicious martinis and beautiful view of the bay front. If you’re making a night of it, you could easily visit all three of these spots in one evening as they are in easy walking distance near the waterfront.

When Davidson Realty Agent Ana Speziale extolled the virtues of Wellness Matters, a clinic based in Palencia that helps clients achieve health and wellness through holistic and biological medicine, we invited Co-owner Susan Burns (Wellness Matters is owned by Susan Burns and Kay Turbyfill) to be our featured speaker at the Davidson Speaker Series in February. It was a fascinating presentation and it made us want to learn more about the clinic and what they do.

“Often times our clients come to us when they have been let down by main stream medicine,” said Burns. “We practice biological medicine which is an integrated and more thorough approach than traditional medicine. We’re not concerned with merely treating symptoms; we’re interested in getting to the root cause of a health issue,” explained Burns.

Cruisers Grill in St. Augustine, is located at 3 Saint George Street and is right in the heart of Historic Downtown St. Augustine. Open daily at 11 A.M., Cruisers offers both inside and outside patio dining for everyone’s convenience. Aside from the great location, atmosphere, and being family friendly, Cruisers food is outstanding! Opening in 1996, Cruisers quickly became famous for their burgers, winning multiple “Best Burger’s” awards from magazines like Folio Weekly, Jacksonville Magazine, and Where Locals Eat.

Cruisers menu is constantly expanding, offering something to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. From their “Texas Torpedo’s” appetizer (stuffed Jalapenos) to their new “Marinated Tuna Wrap,” Cruisers offers a variety of beef, chicken, and fresh fish entrees all under ten dollars. In addition to their delicious appetizers and entrees, Cruiser’s offers their homemade marinades, dressings, Pico de Gallo, and hot sauces for extra flavor to any dish. Priding themselves on never using heat lamps in any of their four locations, Cruiser serves their food fresh, hot, and savory all day long.

Name It, Play It Contest Coming Soon – Offers Unique Opportunity to Name Arnold Palmer’s Favorite King & Bear Golf Hole

The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village, Honours Golf and Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village are teaming up for a once-in-a-lifetime shot for golf fans to leave their mark on the renowned King & Bear golf course. The new Name It, Play It contest will invite folks to tap their right brain and suggest a creative name for Hole 15 on the King & Bear golf course at World Golf Village. The King & Bear is the one and only time golf legends Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus collaborated to design a golf course. The 15th Hole is Arnold Palmer’s self-professed favorite hole. In fact, Palmer selected hole number 15 as one of his “Dream 18” in Sports Illustrated’s Preview to the Ryder Cup 2006.

The Name It, Play It contest will kick off this Spring countrywide. Contestants will submit a name suggestion for the golf hole. Inspiration may come from the hole’s premier design, its stunning natural setting, the way it plays or elsewhere. The top submissions will be selected and voted on by the public. The winning name will receive the honor of leaving his or her mark on the legendary course as well as an exclusive trip for two to World Golf Village, complete with deluxe accommodations at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, golf for two on both the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire courses courtesy of Honours Golf, a travel voucher for up to $500 courtesy of the Neighborhoods of World Golf Village and more!

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Arthur Rutenberg Homes’ Building Process

As you see in the video, the process starts with visiting their model home in Ponte Vedra, Florida. Homebuyers browse the Design Collection portfolio featuring about 80 floorplans to get an idea of what plan best fits their wants and needs. You also have the option of having a custom design plan created exclusively for you. Once you choose a floorplan, the fun part starts – focusing on the details!
