World Golf Village Women’s Mixer on April 26th – Put a Girl’s Night on Your Calendar!

Cosmopolitan The second annual Women’s Mixer is back by popular demand! It will be held at Davidson Realty, Inc. located at 100 East Town Place at the entrance to World Golf Village on Thursday, April 26th beginning at 7 pm. We are so excited to have more than 20 women vendors participating with us this year! A variety of women-owned area businesses and experts will be spotlighting their services and products. What’s even better is this event is free and open to the public as part of Davidson Realty’s monthly Davidson Speaker Series events.

Everyone is welcome to enjoy complimentary wine and a specialty cocktail. There will be cheese and crackers and other delicious snacks from participating vendors. Most of our vendors are also offering specials, discounts and giveaways! You won’t want to miss the chance to shop these amazing products for less!

Cheers to St. Augustine Nightlife with Peyton & Matt!

Sometimes life is better than good. In fact life was pretty great last week when friend and co-worker Matt Burkhart and I got to hit some of our favorite watering holes in downtown St. Augustine to bring you this inside scoop on where to kick back with some beers, have a cocktail with friends or sip wine in style. Truly St. Augustine has so much to offer. In addition to gorgeous weather, historic beauty, great shopping and sightseeing, St. Augustine has a nightlife scene with something for everyone – dive joints, college hangouts, gourmet restaurants and sophisticated bars. Come along with me and Matt as we visit my favorite spots: J.P. Henley’s for the beer lovers, Cellar 6 for a relaxing night on the town, and The Tini Martini Bar for delicious martinis and beautiful view of the bay front. If you’re making a night of it, you could easily visit all three of these spots in one evening as they are in easy walking distance near the waterfront.

Name It, Play It Contest Coming Soon – Offers Unique Opportunity to Name Arnold Palmer’s Favorite King & Bear Golf Hole

The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village, Honours Golf and Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village are teaming up for a once-in-a-lifetime shot for golf fans to leave their mark on the renowned King & Bear golf course. The new Name It, Play It contest will invite folks to tap their right brain and suggest a creative name for Hole 15 on the King & Bear golf course at World Golf Village. The King & Bear is the one and only time golf legends Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus collaborated to design a golf course. The 15th Hole is Arnold Palmer’s self-professed favorite hole. In fact, Palmer selected hole number 15 as one of his “Dream 18” in Sports Illustrated’s Preview to the Ryder Cup 2006.

The Name It, Play It contest will kick off this Spring countrywide. Contestants will submit a name suggestion for the golf hole. Inspiration may come from the hole’s premier design, its stunning natural setting, the way it plays or elsewhere. The top submissions will be selected and voted on by the public. The winning name will receive the honor of leaving his or her mark on the legendary course as well as an exclusive trip for two to World Golf Village, complete with deluxe accommodations at the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, golf for two on both the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire courses courtesy of Honours Golf, a travel voucher for up to $500 courtesy of the Neighborhoods of World Golf Village and more!

Take a Tour of my New Favorite Place – Mile Marker Brewing!

I love beer…most any kind of beer, so you can imagine I was extremely excited to hear that we now have a brewery right around the corner from our St. Augustine golf course community. Mile Marker Brewing is located right off SR 16 near the outlet malls. What that means to me is no more driving to Jacksonville Beach for delicious microbrews. Now, the delicious microbrews have come to me!

Mile Marker currently has five beers on tap – Mile Marker Zero (Key West KoÌˆlsch-style Ale), Mile Marker 1565 (Red Ale), Mile Marker 82 (Islamorada IPA), Ben’s Too Peachy (KoÌˆlsch-style Ale with peach), and a honey ale (KoÌˆlsch-style Ale with honey). They have a Pecan Brown Ale and an Oatmeal Stout brewing which will be ready to serve in the next couple of weeks.

Villagio at the Renaissance Impresses with Great Italian Fare

What a delight it is to finally have an upscale Italian restaurant right here in our St. Augustine golf course community. Villagio, the new eatery in the Renaissance Resort Hotel in the heart of WGV opened on 11/11/11 and offered $11.00 wines and $11.00 entrees for three nights. The response was so overwhelming that the kitchen had difficulty keeping up with the demand, but for those who were less than enchanted during that opening, it is well worth a return visit. And if you haven’t dined there yet, you will be pleasantly surprised. The wines by the glass are generously poured and each evening, in addition to a nice wine list, they feature 3 good wines by the bottle at greatly reduced prices. The menu is diverse, and there are daily specials – such as a quail dish recently offered.

Standard Pacific Homes to Break Ground on New Homes in GroveWood

In November, national homebuilder Standard Pacific Homes closed on 16 homesites in the neighborhood of GroveWood in our St. Augustine golf course community. Standard Pacific Homes will soon break ground on four spec homes on the GroveWood lots, ranging from about 2,500 to 3,500 square feet. Pricing will start in high $200,000s. The featured floor plans include the Kingfisher (2,469 square feet), Cambridge (3,051 square feet), Belmont (3,536 square feet), Carisbrooke (3,226 square feet) and the Palladium (2,912 square feet). An extensive list of upgrades come standard on all the homes. Davidson Realty’s Mirtha Barzaga was the Realtor for the transaction.

The holidays get hectic, but between shopping for presents and packing for travel we need to remember our furry friends! There are plenty of people located in or around our St. Augustine golf course community that would be happy to help take care of our feline or canine family members.
